CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Woodsworth Award

The Award honours the memory of Jean Woodsworth for her lifetime commitment and action on social issues and her feistiness in overcoming social barriers. It is given for distinguished service to the community. There are no age limitations but recipients will have shown some longevity of effort and commitment in their social activism. The CPC (Ontario Division) AGM Nominating Committee selects the potential candidate for Board approval.

The Award is presented at the Annual General Meeting. Recipients receive a com-memorative plaque and a small financial remuneration.

Nominations may be submitted to the CPC office by letter, fax or e-mail (see box page 2 for details) to the attention of the Chair, Nominations Committee. Please include the name and phone number of nominee and nominator and reasons why the nominee should be given the award. Submit all nominations by March 12, 2010.

Board of Directors

There will be openings on the Board of Directors for a three-year term following the annual meeting in the spring 2010. Board members are required to be at least 21 years of age and members in good standing of Canadian Pensioners Concerned and in support of our Mission Statement.
